Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Charcoal Peel-Off

Hi there! Today’s post is about this single use Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Charcoal Peel Off face mask.

This face mask promises to cleanse and to detoxify skin. Using the mask is easy – apply it to your face, let it dry (which takes around 20 minutes), then peel it off.

I’ve given this mask a try, and I think it’s really good. It’s definitely one of Montagne Jeunesse’s more effective peel off masks.

What else is great? This mask is 100% vegan & certified cruelty-free (it carries the Leaping Bunny logo). Yay!

Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Charcoal Peel Off face mask is available as a 10ml single use face mask for £1 (with a 3 for 2 offer at Home Bargains!).

Never Again – The Ultimate Beauty Duds – Part 5

Hi there! I’ve already done a few posts to tell you about some of the beauty products I didn’t like at all. But let me tell you about a few more products that I hated! 🙂

Elizavecca Gold CF-Nest Collagen Jella Pack Mask
elizavecca-collagen-jella-pack
This mask is simply awful. It makes your skin feel like it’s covered in lard. In addition, the only way to remove the mask is to rub it off. This causes the mask to flake big time (but there’s nothing else you can do) which means that you have to wash your hair after you’ve used this mask. A truly awful product!

TRESemmè Colour Revitalise Vibrant Colour Protection Conditioner – I didn’t like this conditioner at all because it made my hair go greasy quickly. And the “fragrance” was borderline unpleasant. The shampoo was OK, though.

Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Charcoal Masque – this mask contains crushed walnut shells which are unsuitable for the face. Awful!

L’Oréal Elvive Fibrology Thickening Masque

L'Oreal Fibrology Masque
I could write an essay about why I didn’t like this hair masque, but I won’t. In summary, it took 24 hours for the thickening effect to kick in, and the product made my hair feel crunchy. 😠

The Body Shop Fijian Water Lotus Body Lotion – this body lotion smells really bad. I have to admit I’m not the biggest fan of lotus or water lily scents, but this is the worst lotus “fragrance” I’ve ever smelled in a product.

L’Oréal Elvive Smooth & Polish Thermo Detangling Spray – it doesn’t detangle hair, but it seems to straighten and flatten it, so if you have wavy or curly hair, this spray just ruins your hairdo…

Boots Being By The Sanctuary Spa Cloudberry & Lychee Blossom Body Mist – one of the cheapest fragrances I’ve ever smelled. I tried to give it away, but none of my colleagues wanted it…

Superdrug Red Colour Conditioner – this stuff was anti-conditioning! Truly awful! Guess what, it’s been discontinued!

Superdrug Optimum Phyto Brighter Triple Action Illuminating Black Moisturiser

This moisturiser left a grey residue on the skin. I can’t believe I actually finished it…

Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation

One of the worst foundations I’ve ever tried. Poor coverage, but cakey look, feels super silky, but impossible to blend. Rubbish!

This was part 5 of The Ultimate Beauty Duds! Whilst I’m not saying that no one could ever like any of these products (some of them are still around), I found these products to be rubbish. But if you do like any of these products, that’s good for you. Feel free to get in touch if you want to. And thanks for reading!

nails-mask-1
On Tuesday I showed you another mani I did recently. If you’ve missed the post, click here to read it. On Wednesday I did a post about a face mask that I wish I hadn’t picked up. Yikes! If you’ve missed the post, you can read it here.

Thursday 17 Nov – Pantene Pro-V Volume & Body Shampoo & Conditioner
pantene-volume-body
These two Pantene offerings didn’t impress me much. Volume & Body… nope! This stuff actually flattens my hair! Click here to read the full review.

Friday 18 Nov – Superdrug Clearly Youthful Resurfacing Night Serum

Superdrug’s Night Serum isn’t perfect – but it’s a decent product that does what it’s supposed to do. I’m glad I bought it – and I already bought a back-up bottle. If you want to read the full review, click here.

This was my week in blog posts. I hope you liked the recap. If you’ve used any of these products, I’d like to know what you think of them. Feel free to get in touch via the comments section. I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend! 🙂

I wouldn’t recommend… Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Charcoal Masque

montagne jeunesse charcoal maskHi there! Not too long ago Montagne Jeunesse launched its new 7th Heaven Charcoal Masque. And I picked it up for 85p at my local Asda.

I’ve now tried this face mask, and I regret that I have to say that I don’t like it. And here’s why.

When I applied the mask, it felt scratchy and unpleasant.

A quick scan of the ingredients on the back of the sachet revealed that this mask contains crushed walnut shell powder – which is OK for the body, but not for the face.

The reason is that crushed walnut shells (and crushed apricot stones) are too harsh for sensitive facial skin. They cause tiny cuts on the surface of skin – which is great for bacteria but not for your skin.

Anyway, now I’ve also noticed the walnut image on the front of the sachet – but unfortunately I missed it when I bought the mask. I can only guess that I was too distracted by the charcoal eyes…

OK, let’s get back to what happened when I used the mask… as it was scratchy, I had to take extra special care when I applied it. And I was extra, extra careful when I washed it off. So I didn’t get any exfoliating ‘benefits’ from this mask – but I also noticed that there were no other benefits. My skin felt super dry afterwards – and that was it.

Based on this I wouldn’t recommend this face mask. I wouldn’t recommend it if you paid me. If you want to know more about the abrasive exfoliants I mentioned, check out my friend Janine’s brilliant post about why she threw away her St Ives face scrub.
