October Beauty Awards

Hi there! Today’s post is about all the products I loved the most in October. Read on if you’d like to know which products have impressed me.

3rd place – NYC Kissgloss 534 Tribeca Tangerine

I love this NYC lipgloss! One of the best glosses I’ve ever had!

Runner-Up – Rimmel Colour Show Off Lipstick 250 Stare At Me

Rimmel did an amazing job with this lipstick. I love the colour, the raspberry flavour and the good quality of this lipstick in general.

WINNER – Elizavecca Milky Piggy Hell-Pore Cleanup AHA Fruit Toner

This AHA toner is the best skin brightening products I’ve ever tried. I also agree that it gives skin a deep cleanse. This stuff is awesome, and I hope to be able to find it again!

Onto the honrouable mentions! Derma V10’s Pink Cactus Sheet Mask was lovely, Primark’s PS… Hydrating Rose Sheet Mask was very nice, Vaseline’s Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Non-Greasy Lotion was and is a fab product and Gliss’ Liquid Silk Shampoo & Conditioner were amazing as well.

Which products have you (re)discovered lately? Feel free to get in touch via the comments, and thanks for stopping by!

And Happy Halloween! 🎃👻🧟‍♀️

NYC Kissgloss 534 Tribeca Tangerine

Hi there! Today’s short post is about my current favourite lipgloss – NYC Kissgloss 534 Tribeca Tangerine. Its tagline is shiny lips in fruity flavour!

I’ve already given away that I love this lipgloss, and here’s why! It’s very hydrating, yet not sticky. The micro-shimmer is not visible on my lips – it’s just insanely shiny. And it has most incredible candy banana flavour.

Based on my experience, I’d recommend NYC Kissgloss 534 Tribeca Tangerine to everyone! I found this amazing lipgloss at Poundland. It came in a pack of 2 products (lipgloss + nail polish) for £1.

Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Non-Greasy Lotion

Vaseline Aloe LotionHi there! Today’s post is about this Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Non-Greasy Lotion.

This body lotion promises to heal and soothe dry skin.

I’ve been using it on and off for just over a week now, and I like it a lot!

I agree that this body lotion feels healing and soothing. I have very dry skin, and I’m happy with how this body lotion makes my skin feel.

The formula is more of a gel cream that a lotion. It reminds me of Herbal Essences’ classic conditioner! And I’m also happy with the aloe fragrance. It’s green and refreshing. Nice!

Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Non-Greasy Lotion is available as 200ml. I only paid £1 (Poundland), although the usual drugtore price is about £2.79.

Nail Of The Day – Beauty UK White & Stamping With Harunouta L079

Hi there! Today’s post is about a mani from last week.

For this mani I painted my nails with Beauty UK White – one the best white polishes I’ve ever used. Two coats are enough for perfect coverage. I finished this nail polish now, and I’m sad that I can’t replace it.

For the images I used my Harunouta  L079 stamping plate.

The red polish I stamped with is Rimmel Lycra Pro 327 Heart On Fire.

I really like how this mani turned out. I think this would be a great Halloween look. However, I think I’ll do my “usual” mani (bats and blood on a white background) for Halloween.

Sugu Beauty Calm & Cool Sheet Mask With Cucumber

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Sugu Calm & Cool Sheet Mask With Cucumber which I found at my local Poundland store.

This face mask contains a number of botanical ingredients, such as cucumber juice, moutan root extract, chamomile extract, aloe vera leaf extract, etc. You’re supposed to use this mask after you’ve cleansed your face. Leave it on for 10-20 minutes and follow with your normal skin care routine.

I’ve given this mask a try, and I think it wasn’t very special. I found it mildly hydrating, but that was pretty much it. If I had spent £3.50 (which Sugu masks normally retail for), I’d be disappointed. But since I only spent £1 (Poundland), I’m not going to complain.

I won’t buy this mask again, but if you’re interested, Sugu Calm & Cool Sheet Mask With Cucumber is available as a 20ml single use face mask.

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Superdrug Fruity Strawberry & Raspberry Face Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Superdrug Fruity Strawberry & Raspberry Face Mask. This is a sheet mask which is supposed to be used after cleansing. Simply leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes, then massage the leftover essence from the sachet into your skin.

This mask contains witch hazel, sodium hyaluronate, as well as a number of botanical extracts. There is no mention of who the mask is aimed at and what it’s supposed to do. Interesting!

I’ve given this mask a try, and I can report positive and negative bits. Positive – the mask felt hydrating, and it plumped up my skin. This was very ice! Negative – this is one of these ultra-thin sheet masks which are wrapped around a mask-shaped piece of plastic. This stuff is terrible for the environment, and it cancels out the vegan & cruelty-free aspect of the mask. I also didn’t care for the sickly sweet fragrance.

Based on my experience, I wouldn’t really recommend the mask. If you’re interested, Superdrug Fruity Strawberry & Raspberry Face Mask is available as a set of 3 sheet masks. I paid £1.49 (clearance, Boxing Day 2019). But I’ve seen that Superdrug still sells these masks, so if you want to give it a try, you know what to do.

Face Facts Pampered Kitten Purifying Sheet Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Face Facts Pampered Kitten Purifying Sheet Mask with cucumber extract, aloe leaf juice and sodium hyaluronate. This mask is easy to use – cleanse your skin, put the mask on, leave it on for 15-20 minutes, then remove the mask and follow with your regular skin care.

I’ve given this mask a try, and I think it’s nice. I didn’t care for the unnatural scent (I’ve noticed this before with masks from this brand). However, I found the mask to be refreshing and mildly hydrating. I can’t comment on whether it actually had a purifying effect, but I did enjoy using it.

The mask was also super cute. When my husband saw me with this mask on, he looked at me as if he was falling in love with me again! 😂 Face Facts Pampered Kitten Purifying Sheet Mask is available as a 20ml single-use face mask. I paid 99p (Savers).

100% Cruelty-Free – Primark PS… Hydrating Rose Sheet Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this PS… Hydrating Rose Sheet Mask. This is a bio-degradable sheet mask that promises to infuse skin with hydration. You’re supposed to use the mask after you’ve cleansed your skin. Just leave it on for about 20 minutes, then massage the rest of the essence into your skin.

I think this mask is quite enjoyable. I’m happy to confirm that it left my skin feeling wonderfully hydrated. I also liked the subtle and refreshing pink rose fragrance – it complemented the feel of the mask very well!

If you’re interested, PS… Hydrating Rose Sheet Mask is available as a 23g single-use mask for 80p at Primark. This face mask is certified cruelty-free – it carries the Leaping Bunny logo! 😍

100% Cruelty-Free – Montagne Jeunesse Simply The Zest

Hi there! Today’s post is about Montagne Jeunesse Simply The Zest. This clay mask with lavender and lemon promises to calm, detox and pamper skin.

You’re supposed to apply the mask to cleansed skin, leave it on for 15-20 minutes (until it’s dry), then rinse it off.

I’ve given this mask a try, and I think it’s quite good. I found this mask to be cleansing but also a little drying. Having said this, my husband (who has oily skin) loved the short-lived post-mask dryness.

Montagne Jeunesse Simply The Zest face mask is available as a 15g single-use face mask (although 15g is enough for 2 people) for 90p at Primark. This face mask is certified cruelty-free – it carries the Leaping Bunny logo!

Luxe Beauty Care Charcoal Spa Treatment Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Luxe Beauty Care Charcoal Spa Treatment Mask. This sheet masked is drenched in an anti-ageing serum with added charcoal powder, vitamin E and sodium hyaluronate It promises to give pores a deep cleanse and to leave skin feeling super soft.

Before you use this mask you’re supposed to cleanse your skin. Then put the mask on, leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse it off. On the back of the pack it says that you shouldn’t go over the 15 minutes to avoid an allergic reaction. 😯

I’ve given this mask a try, and I think it’s alright but not special. This is one of those face masks that you’d enjoy whilst you’re in the bath tub. I don’t think the mask did anything special, but it felt nice on my skin whilst it was on.

I will finish the remaining 4 masks from this pack, but I wouldn’t buy these masks again. If you’re interested, Luxe Beauty Care Charcoal Spa Treatment Masks are available in packs of 5. I paid £4.99 (TK Maxx).
