October Beauty Awards

Hi there! It’s the last working day of the month, so today’s post is about all the products I loved the most in October. Let me start with the TOP 3, and there will be a few honourable mentions as well!

3rd place – L’Oréal Elvive Colour Protect Caring Shampoo & Conditioner

This shampoo and conditioner combo is an all-time favourite.

Runner-Up – Esfolio Hyaluronic Acid With Peach Essence Mask Sheet
WINNER – Westlab Himalayan Salt Cleansing Bath & Shower Gel

I love this Esfolio face mask. It’s such a treasure! I’m so glad I have 10 of these!
Westlab knocked it out of the park with their Himalayan Salt shower gel. I love it! A sure beauty staple from now on!

Onto the honourable mentions! Original Source did a great job with their Green Banana & Bamboo Milk and Sweet Apple & Vanilla Milk shower gels as they are moisturising indeed! Skin Treats Star Glitter Moisturising Peel Off Face Mask was such a nice surprise – what a powerful peel-off mask!

2 more shout-outs to Skin Techniques Pomegranate Infused Sheet Mask and Farm Skin Green Tea Soothing Sheet Mask – both of these masks were awesome!

Have you tried any of these products? Would you like to try any of them? Which products have you been loving lately? Feel free to comment, and thanks for stopping by! x

Treacle Moon Pomegranate & Water Lily Shower & Bath Gel

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Treacle Moon Pomegranate & Water Lily Shower & Bath Gel. I bought this one by accident. When I ordered it online along with my groceries, Waitrose (or was it Tesco?) displayed another shower gel (I don’t remember exactly, but something yellow) as the limited edition on their website, but they delivered this one instead.

Anyhoo, I have now given this shower gel a try, and I can safely say that I don’t like it at all. The water lily scent is nauseating. And it’s so strong! I can’t use this stuff. I’ll ask my neighbour if she wants this shower gel, and if not, I’ll bin it.

This is just my opinion, and if you’re interested, Treacle Moon Pomegranate & Water Lily Shower & Bath Gel available as 500ml for £3. I spent £2 (I thought I’m snapping up a bargain on a Save 1/3 offer).

Nail Of The Day – Barry M Molten Metal Holographic Rocket & Stamping With MoYou London Sailor 07

Hi there! I hope you had a great weekend! Today’s post is a Nail Of The Day post.

For this mani I painted my nails with Barry M Molten Metal Holographic Rocket (2 coats). This is such a beautiful holographic polish. It looks amazing when the light hits it.

For the images I used my MoYou London Sailor 07 stamping plate and Revlon Colourstay 270 Stiletto.

Most of the images looked really nice and clear – apart from the image on the middle finger. Ah well, there’s always something… but it was a minor thing, and I still liked this mani!

Revisiting Old Favourites – L’Oréal Elvive Colour Protect Caring Shampoo & Conditioner

Hi there! Today’s post is about the hair care products I’m using at the moment – L’Oréal Elvive Colour Protect Caring Shampoo & Conditioner. I’ve previously reviewed these products – years ago. But I haven’t used them in a while, so I thought it’s time to use them again.

L’Oréal Elvive Colour Protect Caring Shampoo is lovely. It’s a creamy white shampoo that cleanses my hair gently. I love it! And the beautiful scent is an added bonus!

L’Oréal Elvive Colour Protect Caring Conditioner detangles my hair with ease. It’s a great conditioner – one of L’Oréal’s best products, no doubt. I love that it makes my hair feel silky soft! 😍

I’m enjoying these 2 products so much! I can’t believe that I haven’t used them for such a long time! I’ll definitely buy them again soon! L’Oréal Elvive Colour Protect Caring Shampoo & Conditioner are available in a bunch of sizes – 50ml, 250ml, 300ml, 400ml and 500ml. My guess is that the 300ml and 500ml are new sizes which are currently in the process of replacing the 250ml and 400ml bottles. As of now, the 400ml bottles (which mine are) are about £5 each. I paid £2.49 each (special offer at Tesco’s).

Original Source Green Banana & Bamboo Milk Moisturising Shower Milk, Original Source Sweet Apple & Vanilla Milk Moisturising Shower Milk

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 shower products I’m using at the moment – Original Source Green Banana & Bamboo Milk Moisturising Shower Milk and Original Source Sweet Apple & Vanilla Milk Moisturising Shower Milk.

Let’s start with Original Source Green Banana & Bamboo Milk Moisturising Shower Milk! This one is really nice! I would have preferred the banana scent to be a little less green, but it’s still a cute scent. The best bit is the formula though. It really is a moisturising shower milk. Tremendous stuff!

Onto Original Source Sweet Apple & Vanilla Milk Moisturising Shower Milk! This one is super moisturising too! Very impressive! The sweet apple and vanilla fragrance is very nice too – it’s a bit faint though. Still, this is a great little shower milk, and I’m enjoying it very much.

If you’re interested, Original Source Green Banana & Bamboo Milk Moisturising Shower Milk and Original Source Sweet Apple & Vanilla Milk Moisturising Shower Milk are available as 250ml. I paid £1 each (at one of the bargain stores).

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Sukin Rosehip Nourishing Cream Cleanser

Hi there! Happy Tuesday! Today’s post is about this Sukin Rosehip Nourishing Cream Cleanser.

You’re supposed to apply a small amount to moist hands, gently massage it into the skin, and then rinse it off thoroughly. You should use this cleanser once or twice daily. I think this sounds pretty standard.

I’ve been using this cleanser for a few weeks now, and I have to say that I’m not impressed. It doesn’t feel cleansing – and that’s because it isn’t cleansing.

It’s like rubbing hand cream all over your face. Sure, it’ll bind some of your make-up / face cream (whatever you have on) which you can then rinse off. But it still leaves a lot of product and a greasy residue on the skin. This cleanser is supposed to be nourishing, but all it does is make my skin feel and look rather unclean.

But then… the majority of the ingredients are oils – so where is the cleansing effect supposed to come from?

I wonder whether Sukin made this product for those people who don’t use any skin care products but who still moan about dry skin.

I also assume that a lot of people who have more than a basic interest in skin care would use a toner and a moisturiser after cleansing. I can’t comment on any medical skin issues, but a toner and a face cream would solve a lot of minor skin issues which some people who don’t take care of their skin like to complain about. I know quite a few people who fall into that category…

Anyhoo, back to this product! I found a lot of positive reviews for this face wash, and I don’t understand them. I can only imagine that those reviews come from people whose skin care regime starts and ends with a face wash. I appreciate there are different skin types, and yes, people like different things. However, I cannot see how anyone would enjoy a “cleansing” product that doesn’t cleanse skin properly and that clogs pores instead.

I never thought I’d bin a Sukin product, but this is exactly what I’m doing now. I don’t want to double-cleanse (using another face wash after this one) or double-tone (my poor skin…). Surely, this would defeat the purpose of a supposedly gentle and “nourishing” cleanser.

If this cleanser works for you = great! I wouldn’t recommend it, but if you’re interested, Sukin Rosehip Nourishing Cream Cleanser is available as 125ml for about £12.95. I got this product as part of a £12.99 gift set which contained Sukin products worth over £40! So I’m hoping the other 2 products (night cream, facial oil) will be considerably better than this one.

Nail Of The Day – Barry M Molten Metal Holographic Moon, Rimmel Lycra Pro 425 My Denim, Miss Sporty Sparkle Touch 888 & Stamping With MoYou London Sci-Fi 07

Hi there! I’ve got a Nail Of The Day post for you today.

For this mani I painted my nails with Barry M Molten Metal Holographic Moon (2 coats, thumbs, index and middle fingers) and Rimmel Lycra Pro 425 My Denim (2 coats, ring fingers, pinkies).

For the images I used my MoYou London Sci-Fi 07 stamping plate.

The black polish I stamped with is the wonderful Revlon Colorstay 270 Stiletto.

The glitter top coat on the blue nails is Miss Sporty Sparkle Touch 888. This is a beautiful silver holographic top coat. It looks incredibly dull in the photo, but it’s gorgeous in real life.

Esfolio Hyaluronic Acid With Peach Essence Mask Sheet

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Esfolio Hyaluronic Acid With Peach Essence Mask Sheet. This face mask contains hyaluronic acid and a bunch of botanical ingredients, such as tomato extract, beet extract, pomegranate extract, etc. And it promises to hydrate the skin.

This is a regular leave-on mask. Simply cleanse your face, put the mask on, leave it on for 15-20 minutes, then massage the remaining essence into your skin.

I’ve already used 3 of these masks, and I think they’re very good! They’re sooo hydrating and also mildly refreshing. They don’t feel sticky at all, and the subtle peach scent is dreamy too!

Based on my experience, I’d recommend these face masks! Esfolio Hyaluronic Acid With Peach Essence Mask Sheet is available as a pack of 10 masks for £7.99 (TK Maxx).
