November Beauty Awards

Hi there! It’s the last day of the month, and this means that today’s post is about the products I loved the most in November. And here they are!

3rd place – Superdrug Layering Lab Paradise Body Mist
Runner-Up – Palmolive My Fresh Splash Shower Gel

Superdrug did a fantastic job with their Paradise body mist – which smells like it could be a dupe for Paco Rabanne’s Olympéa.
Palmolive’s My Fresh Splash is one of my favourite shower gels this year.

WINNER – Nina Ricci L’Extase Eau De Parfum

L’Extase is one of the most beautiful fragrances I had the pleasure of using this year. I think it’s probably in my all-time top 40 (and that includes fragrances from the mid-90s until now).

I’ve also got a few honourable mentions – Patisserie De Bain Mango Sorbet & Pineapple Paradise Hand Creams are very nice, and Skin Treats’ Avocado Nourishing Facial Sheet Mask was super enjoyable.

Have you tried any of these products? Or would you like to try any of them? Feel free to get in touch via the comments, and thanks for stopping by!

I Love Elderflower Fizz Scented Bath Salts

Hi there! Today’s post is about these I Love Elderflower Fizz Scented Bath Salts. In addition to elderflower, other key notes are jasmine, apple and cucumber. To enjoy these bath salts, you’re supposed to use 2-3 handfuls for a bath. Aha! Now onto the review!

I’ve used these bath salts twice now, and I’m very disappointed. These bath salts smell like a weird green mix – the scent is not very nice or feminine. It’s just something green… random green notes. I was looking forward to a refreshing bath with notes of spring, but these bath salts are simply underwhelming. I think I’ll mix the leftover salts with other bath salts, or maybe I’ll let my husband try them (=use them up).

Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend these bath salts. If you’re interested, I Love Elderflower Fizz Scented Bath Salts are available as 500g for about £3.

Nina Ricci L’Extase Eau De Parfum

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Nina Ricci L’Extase Eau De Parfum which I found at TK Maxx. The price was ridiculous – £16.99 for a 30ml, so I bought it right away.

This fragrance contains the following notes: pink pepper, peach and pear (top notes), rose, raspberry, white flowers and jasmine (heart notes), and caramel, benzoin, amber, vanilla, musk, patchouli and cedar (base notes).

I’ve been using this fragrance on and off for a few weeks now, and I am blown away. This fragrance is astonishingly beautiful. It’s feminine and sensuous, sweet, fruity, but also mature. It’s an ambered raspberry and rose fragrance with shades of caramel, vanilla, musk, peach and patchouli.

I’ve seen L’Extase being likened to Lancome’s La Nuit Trésor. I can see similarities, and whilst La Nuit Trésor is a gorgeous fragrance (which I might even buy at some point), I think that L’Extase is more rounded, but at the same time it also feels more multi-faceted. In addition, I find the sweetness in L’Extase to be a little more subtle; L’Extase’s raspberry, peach and amber are gentler and less in-your-face than La Nuit Trésor’s strawberry, citrus and praline.

Based on my experience, I’d recommend this beautiful fragrance. I wish I had discovered it sooner! Nina Ricci L’Extase Eau De Parfum is available as 30ml, 50ml and 80ml. What you pay for this fragrant gem depends on where you shop.

Skin Treats Glitter Face Silver Hydrogel Glitter Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Skin Treats Glitter Face Silver Hydrogel Glitter Mask. This mask with collagen promises intensive hydration. You’re supposed to use this mask after you’ve cleansed your face. Put the mask on, and leave it on for 20 minutes, then tap the essence into the skin.

When I put on the mask, I remembered that I tried a very similar mask before – with mixed results. First of all, the hydrogel mask is useless. It feels like glibber, and the fit is a total joke – it’s extremely wide, but looking at the length, you’d think it was made for a child. The mask also has glitter stars attached to it – those look like glitter stars you’d find in christmas-themed glitter nail polish. The mask also doesn’t hold any product, so it really is useless. The mask went into the bin right away.

However, the sachet was still full of essence – now what? Well, I simply popped a compressed sheet mask into the sachet and let it soak up the essence. That way I was able to enjoy a regular sheet mask. The essence is actually quite nice – it’s hydrating and refreshing, with hardly any fragrance. The essence left my skin feeling soft and looking plump. What more could I ask for?

If you’re interested, Skin Treats Glitter Face Silver Hydrogel Glitter Mask is available as a 60g single-use mask for £1. I bought mine at my local B&M Bargains store.

Nail Of The Day – Revlon Matte Suede 507 Fire Fox & Stamping With Pict You PY-J028

Hi there! Today’s post is about this mani I did just a few days ago.

For this mani I painted my nails with Revlon Matte Suede 507 Fire Fox. I’m not a fan of matte polishes, but I like this bright red shade. And with the help of a regular top coat or clear polish, even the dullest matte polish becomes nice and shiny.

For the images I used the amazing Pict You PY-J028 stamping plate.

The polish I stamped with is Revlon Brilliant Strength 110 Hypnotize.

I liked the look of this mani. And yes, the christmassey look was intentional. 🎅

Patisserie De Bain Mango Sorbet & Pineapple Paradise Hand Creams

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 hand creams – Patisserie De Bain Mango Sorbet and Patisserie De Bain Pineapple Paradise. These are usually around £4 – £5 each, but I found these at Poundland for £1 each, so I bought them.

Patisserie De Bain Mango Sorbet Hand Cream is a decent hand cream. It’s very nourishing, and I every time I use it, I can feel it on my hands for a while. It’s a heavy hand cream (in a good way), so better suited for night-time use. The mango scent is more like a mix of mango and orange, but it’s nice.

Patisserie De Bain Pineapple Paradise Hand Cream smells exactly like the palm trees from Haribo’s Tropifrutti mix. Wow! The scent was a lovely surprise, but I can see it getting old eventually. Having said this, I’m still enjoying this hand cream – because of the fun scent and also because it’s a nourishing hand cream.

Patisserie De Bain Mango Sorbet Hand Cream and Pineapple Paradise Hand Cream are available as 50ml each. The price will depend on where you shop! 😁

Radox Muscle Relax Bath Salts With Peppermint Scent

Hi there! Today’s post is about these Radox Muscle Relax Bath Salts With Peppermint Scent. Whilst I’m not the biggest fan of peppermint-scented toiletries, I bought these because they were better than half price at Sainsburys.

How do they work? They’re pretty standard – simply use 2-3 handfuls of these salts, let them dissolve in the bath water and let them “soothe your tired muscles“.

I’ve used these bath salts twice, and I didn’t really like them. The peppermint scent is one thing, but what really annoyed me was that these balts salts have a strong cooling effect. I tried to have a nice, warm bath, but thanks to these bath salts, it felt like there was a layer of ice water between my body and the warm water.

My husband ended up finishing these bath salts. He didn’t hate them but he told me I don’t have to repurchase them. If you like cooling bath salts, especially after a workout, you might want to give these a try. Radox Muscle Relax Bath Salts With Peppermint Scent are available as 1kg for about £4.99. I paid £2.25.

Palmolive My Fresh Splash Shower Gel, Palmolive Memories Of Nature Flower Field Shower Gel

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 Palmolive shower gels which I found at my local Superdrug store – Palmolive My Fresh Splash Shower Gel and Palmolive Memories Of Nature Flower Field Shower Gel.

Palmolive My Fresh Splash Shower Gel is simply wonderful! I wish I had seen this one sooner, as it would have been perfect for the summer. It smells of refreshing citruses and sunshine. I love it! In addition, it also feels slightly moisturising – truly great stuff! Too bad this is is a limited edition, otherwise this would become a beauty staple!

Palmolive Memories Of Nature Flower Field Shower Gel has a sweet, powdery-floral scent. Whilst it’s not my favourite scent in shower gels, I love the gentle yet cleansing feel of it. If you love powdery-floral scents (i.e. Kenzo Flower), you might want to give this one a try.

Palmolive My Fresh Splash Shower Gel and Palmolive Memories Of Nature Flower Field Shower Gel are available as 250ml each. I paid £1 each (special offer).
