September Beauty Awards

Hi there! Today’s post is about all the beauty products I loved the most this past month. Read on to see the favourites (and there are a few honourable mentions further down as well). 🙂

3rd place – L’Oréal Triple Resist Reinforcing Shampoo & Conditioner

L’Oréal did a great job with these hair products. I’m a fan!

Runner-Up – Astor Rouge Couture Lipsticks

Astor’s Rouge Couture lipsticks were amazing. It’s too bad the entire collection has been discontinued.

WINNER – Zatik Rosehip & Black Seed Organic Oil Serum

Zatik’s facial oil is simply fantastic! It’s a new beauty favourite, and I know it’ll serve me well over the colder months ahead.

Onto the honourable mentions! M&S The Fragrance Collection Peony & Rhubarb Eau De Toilette almost made it into the top 3. Superdrug’s Anti-Ageing Moisture Mask was a very nice surprise, and Skin Treats’ Olive Oil Mask was lovely too!

There were a few other products I’ve enjoyed a lot (and still enjoy), but I’ve limited myself to 6 favourites this month.

Have you tried any of these products, or would you like to give them a try? Which products have you been loving lately? Feel free to get in touch via the comments, and thanks for reading! 😘

Astor Perfect Stay Transferproof Lip Tint & Care 105 Pink Bloom, 150 Bois De Rose, 151 Blushing Rose, 260 Tequila Sunrise, 301 Warm Sand, 350 Flirty Beige

Hi there! Today’s post is about a bunch of Astor Perfect Stay Transferproof Lip Tint & Care lip stains. I bought one which I liked – and then I bought all the colours… Let’s take a look at some of them!

Astor Perfect Stay Transferproof Lip Tint & Care 105 Pink Bloom is a beautiful raspberry shade. I like it a lot! I will keep this one.

Astor Perfect Stay Transferproof Lip Tint & Care 150 Bois De Rose is a dark, dusty rose shade. It actually looks really nice on me, so I will keep this one too.

Astor Perfect Stay Transferproof Lip Tint & Care 151 Blushing Rose is a soft rosey shade. The name Blushing Rose is perfect. I will keep this one too because it suits me well.

Astor Perfect Stay Transferproof Lip Tint & Care 260 Tequila Sunrise is an ugly orange shade. I won’t wear it. In the bin it goes…

Astor Perfect Stay Transferproof Lip Tint & Care 301 Warm Sand is not bad at all. I’ll use it this autumn for sure!

And last but not least… Astor Perfect Stay Transferproof Lip Tint & Care 350 Flirty Beige is my favourite of the bunch. It’s an almost 80s kind of light brown. It suits me incredibly well. This one’s a bit lighter than Warm Sand, and it’s perfect for every occasion.

All in all, I’m surprised that I liked 5 out of 6! But I’m not complaining. I’m glad that these will finally get some use!

Revlon CustomEyes 010 Sweet Innocence, NYC Metro Quartet Eyeshadow 816A Chelsea Chic

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 small eyeshadow compacts – Revlon CustomEyes 010 Sweet Innocence and NYC Metro Quartet Eyeshadow 816A Chelsea Chic. Let’s take a look at Revlon CustomEyes 010 Sweet Innocence first!

Sweet Innocence is a cute looking little compact. The 5 shades are dark grey, peachy nude, champagne, dusty plum and vintage pink.

I’ve done a few looks with this palette, but I found the quality of the eyeshadows to be poor. They were chalky, it was impossible to build them up, and they didn’t blend.

After the disappointing experience with the Revlon eyeshadows, I tried NYC Metro Quartet Eyeshadow 816A Chelsea Chic.

This little eye palette contains 4 shades: a pale gunpowder, a medium chocolate brown, a frosty baby pink, and a light brown tinted grey.

I’ve done a few looks with this eyeshadows as well, and I think that the pale gunpowder and the brownish grey were alright. The chocolate brown shade was extremely chalky, and I didn’t care for the frosty pink.

Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend these small eye palettes (or compacts). I found them at some bargain store (Poundland?), so at least I didn’t spend much money on them.

NSPA Grapefruit & Orange Bath & Shower Gel, NSPA Green Tea & Aloe Vera Bath & Shower Gel

Hi there! Today’s post is about 2 shower gels I picked up at my local Asda – NSPA Grapefruit & Orange Bath & Shower Gel and NSPA Green Tea & Aloe Vera Bath & Shower Gel. I love oranges, grapefruits, green tea and aloe, so I thought these would be perfect for me. Here’s what I think:

NSPA Grapefruit & Orange Bath & Shower Gel is disappointing. It’s like a really bad orange soda. I can’t imagine anyone would enjoy this odd fragrance in a shower gel. I think this is another shower gel that will end up as hand wash.

NSPA Green Tea & Aloe Vera Bath & Shower Gel is nice. It smells green and refreshing with a hint of sweetness. I’m glad I bought this one. I know I’ll enjoy it over the coming weeks.

NSPA Grapefruit & Orange Bath & Shower Gel and NSPA Green Tea & Aloe Vera Bath & Shower Gel are available as 400ml each for £3 each. I paid £1.50 each (half price offer).

Skin Treats Olive Oil Moisturising Sheet Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Skin Treats Olive Oil Moisturising Sheet Mask which promises to hydrate, sooth, nourish and revitalise skin.

This is a regular sheet mask. Cleanse your face, then put the sheet mask on. Leave it alone for 15-20 minutes and massage the leftover essence from the sachet into your skin.

I think this is a really good mask. It’s definitely one of the best I tried over the past few weeks. I found this mask to be deeply hydrating, I enjoyed the subtle and pleasant green fragrance, and I’m happy to report that the mask didn’t leave a sticky film on my face. I will buy this mask again, no doubt!

Skin Treats Olive Oil Moisturising Sheet Mask is available as a single use face mask for £1 at B&M Bargains. Savers might have this one too.

The cute glitter top coat I used on the pink nails is Essence Colour & Go 105 Party Princess.

MUA MakeUp Academy Matte Lipstick Fawn Fancy, NYC Color Instinct Eyeshadow Palette 969 Rooftop Cocktails

Hi there! Today’s post is about a lipstick and a small eyeshadow palette. And I’m starting with this MUA MakeUp Academy Matte Lipstick in the shade Fawn Fancy which was £1.

This lipstick is awful. The shade is nice, but the lipstick is waxy, strangely dry and impossible to apply. It broke off the first time I used it. Not a surprise – I tried a few lipsticks from this line before, and I remember that this happened with at least 2 of them. I don’t think I’ll ever buy a matte lipstick from MUA again. Having said this, their creamy lipsticks (which are also £1 only) are lovely!

Onto this NYC Color Instinct Eyeshadow Palette 969 Rooftop Cocktails which was 99p at Fragrance Direct.

This is a small eye palette that contains 4 eyeshadows – a dusty lavender, a light blue, a light green, and a pale champagne highlighter shade.

I bought this palette a while ago, but I never used it until I gave it a try a few weeks ago. The dusty lavender shade is nice, but it’s poorly pigmented. And I didn’t care for the other 3 shades.

Since I have no use for this palette, it’ll be the latest victim of my 6 months early spring declutter.

Have you tried these products? Which products did you get rid of recently? Feel free to get in touch, and thanks for reading! 😊

100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free – Zatik Rosehip & Black Seed Organic Oil Serum

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Zatik Rosehip & Black Seed Organic Oil Serum which is aimed at people with dry and mature skin. This oil serum promises intense hydration for soft and radiant skin.

This serum oil is actually an oil blend – it contains a number of certified organic oils such as black seed, rosehip, jojoba, argan, etc. and vitamin E. On the pack it reads that these oils are rich in vitamin C, and that the oil blend is lightweight. People with dry skin are supposed to use the oil twice daily, all other skin types just in the morning.

I’ve been using this facial oil on and off for a over a month now, and I think it’s amazing. It works absolute wonders for dry skin! 😍 And the natural ingredients are just wow!

Having said this, the oil is not lightweight at all – it’s incredibly rich, and if I use it every day, my skin will break out – I know because this happened to me within a week of using this product. I now use it 3-4 times a week, and this is the perfect dose for glowing skin. (It is for me, it might be different for you.)

All in all, I love this product, and I will continue to use it. And based on my experience, I’d recommend it to everyone with dry skin. Just check the label to make sure you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients.

Zatik Rosehip & Black Seed Organic Oil Serum is available as 30ml. I paid £5.99 (TK Maxx). This product is certified cruelty-free. It carries the Leaping Bunny logo!
