100% Cruelty-Free – Montagne Jeunesse Grapefruit Sauna

upload-5Hi there! Montagne Jeunesse’s Grapefruit Sauna (Primark, 90p) is the star of today’s post. 🙂

This face mask promises to gently warm skin for a fresh and radiant glow. This sounds great! But is the mask really any good?

Yes, the mask is awesome! The warming effect is very pleasant. And it’s only warm, it’s not hot, I promise!

I also enjoyed the fragrance which is probably the purest and most authentic pink grapefruit fragrance I’ve ever smelled. It’s gorgeous!

And what about the skin benefits? I didn’t see a difference, but I felt a difference. My skin felt super clean and clear. Fantastic!

So would I recommend this face mask? Yes, absolutely!

This Montagne Jeunesse Grapefruit Sauna face mask is certified cruelty-free, and it’s suitable for vegetarians. It’s approved by BUAV (it carries the Leaping Bunny logo) and by the Vegetarian Society.

Boots Ingredients Radiance & Brightening Sheet Face Mask With Lotus Flower & Tiger Lily

uploadHi there! Today I’m reviewing Boots’ Ingredients Radiance & Brightening Sheet Face Mask with Lotus Flower & Tiger Lily.

This face mask promises to leave skin “shining with radiance and looking brighter” – in 15 minutes.

So how’s the mask? I didn’t notice any difference. I had the mask on for almost 45 minutes, but it didn’t seem to do anything for me. I’ve also used the leftover product from the sachet as a night serum for a few days. However, I still didn’t notice any difference at all.

It’s also not great that this mask fits extremely poorly. It looks like it was made for Stewie Griffin. My friend Stashy captured it perfectly.

Based on my experience I wouldn’t recommend this face mask. However, if you’re interested… Boots Ingredients Radiance & Brightening Sheet Face Mask with Lotus Flower & Tiger Lily is available for £2.50 at Boots. I got my Ingredients face masks when Boots ran a 2 for £3 promotion. So don’t forget to check for offers before you buy!

100% Cruelty-Free – Superdrug Yoghurt Smoothie Mask

Superdrug Yoghurt Smoothie MaskHi there! Just a few days ago I picked up a new face mask at my local Superdrug. I found it on the sale shelf (49p) – so I guess it’s been discontinued…

Anyway, since you might still come across it, let me tell you if Superdrug’s Yoghurt Smoothie Mask is any good.

First of all, this mask reminds me of Montagne Jeunesse’s Buttercream Dream Mud. Whilst this Superdrug face mask doesn’t contain any exfoliating beads, the formula and the fragrance are quite similar to Montagne Jeunesse’s face mask.

What I like about this mask is that it gives my skin a deep cleanse and that it makes my skin feel soft and refreshed.

I think this mask is really nice! If I manage to swing by Superdrug again next week, I’ll definitely pick up a few more masks! 🙂

Superdrug’s Yoghurt Smoothie Mask carries the Leaping Bunny logo. It’s BUAV-approved and as such it is 100% cuelty-free!

100% Cruelty-Free – Montagne Jeunesse Buttercream Dream Mud Face Mask

upload-1Hi there! Just a few days ago I picked up a few Montagne Jeunesse face masks at Primark. And I tried one of these masks today.

So let me tell you more about this Montagne Jeunesse Buttercream Dream Mud face mask which claims to leave skin feeling refreshed, cleansed and smooth.

When I applied the mask, I noticed that it contained exfoliating beads. And we’re not talking about those nasty ground walnut shells or crushed apricot stones. This mask contains face-friendly exfoliating beads – and they really made my skin feel clean and smooth!

I think this mask is excellent. It even reminds me of my former favourite face mask (it was my favourite before Superdrug ruined it by adding walnut shell powder, a.k.a. juglans regia shell powder).

Now onto the fragrance! Whilst this mask is supposed to be “vanilla & honey” scented, I don’t think it smells particularly sweet or yummy. But the random (and non-descript) sweetish fragrance isn’t annoying, so I’m not complaining.

I would certainly recommend this face mask! It’s 90p at Primark – so it’s rather cheap. In addition, Montagne Jeunesse’s Buttercream Dream Mud face mask is certified cruelty-free. It carries the Leaping Bunny logo and it’s approved by the Vegetarian Society.

100% Cruelty-Free – Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Manuka Honey Peel Off Mask

Montagne Jeunsse Manuka Honey Peel OffHi there! Just a few days ago I tried Montagne Jeunesse’s 7th Heaven Manuka Honey Peel-Off Face Mask for the first time.

I think this mask is fantastic, and I know I’ll buy it again! Now let me tell you why I like this face mask so much. 🙂

OK, this mask is like every other peel-off mask out there. You apply it, you let it dry, you peel it off (which is awesome fun), then you wash your face – and that’s it! Job done!

Now I like this mask because it made my face look refreshed and considerably clearer within minutes. It made my face look and feel great – it was that simple. And believe me, it was hard to resist the urge to touch my face all the time… 😀

I also loved the warm honey fragrance – it was delicious! If you like the scent of honey, you’ll love this face mask! So yeah, get it!

Montagne Jeunesse’s 7th Heaven Manuka Honey Peel-Off Face Mask is available for £1 (give or take a few pence – depending on where you shop). This face mask is approved by the Vegetarian Society and by BUAV. It carries the Leaping Bunning logo which means that it’s certified cruelty-free!

Garnier Skin Active Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about Garnier’s Skin Active Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask with pomegranate extract, hyaluronic acid and plant serum. This mask promises intensely rehydrated skin that looks smoother and more radiant – in 15 minutes. Now let me tell you if this mask is any good. 🙂

At first I need to say that this tissue mask doesn’t fit my perfectly average-shaped face. The mask looks like it was made for people with round faces and long chins. However, I have to say that Garnier’s tissue mask doesn’t fit anywhere near as poorly as Boots’ Luminous Youth sheet mask.

Anyway, let’s look at what the mask did for me! I left the mask on for more than 15 minutes – I think I left it on for about 45 minutes (give or take a few minutes). The mask felt cool and refreshing – but it also felt quite tacky. I didn’t notice any issues (no stinging or burning), so that’s definitely a good thing. 🙂 But when I removed the mask, I was disappointed. My complexion looked incredibly dull and my skin didn’t feel hydrated at all. I would say that, despite the superficial tackiness, my skin felt dry and tight underneath.

Since I didn’t get any benefits from this mask, I won’t buy it again. I have another Moisture Bomb tissue mask – but I’ll give that one away. If you’d like to try this product… Garnier’s Skin Active Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask is available for £1.49. I paid 99p (special offer).

Boots Ingredients Luminous Youth Sheet Face Mask With Safflower & Peony

upload-3Hi there! Today I’m reviewing a new face mask – Boots Ingredients Luminous Youth Sheet Face Mask with Safflower & Peony.

Boots says that this mask contains safflower and peony extracts which, apprently, leave skin looking and feeling younger.

In addition, Boots says the mask helps to improve skin tone and texture. This sounds great, doesn’t it?

I’ve tried the mask, and whilst I’m not 100% happy with it, I know I will buy it again.

But before I tell you what’s good, let me start with the things I’m not happy with.

First of all, this mask fits extremely poorly. The eyeholes are huge, the parts that go on the cheeks are too big and too wide, the part that goes on the nose is too short and too small in general… it’s all wrong. It looks like the mask was tailored to fit Stewie Griffin‘s face! I’m well aware that sheet masks can’t fit every face shape, but Montagne Jeunesse did a much better job with their Glacial Spa fabric mask!

Another thing that annoys me quite a bit is the waste of product that comes with sheet masks. Let’s be honest, 20ml of product is quite a lot! And unfortunately most of the actual product gets left behind in the sachet. So whilst I discarded the sheet mask after I’d used it, I resealed the sachet to keep the leftover product fresh – and I used said leftover product, which lasted me for almost a week, as a night cream. Some of you might think this is extreme. However, I think it’s more like not being too wasteful. 😉

Anyway, let’s get to what’s good about this mask! I liked how the mask felt on my face. It was cool (not cold) and actually relaxing. On the back of the sachet it said that the product may cause a tingling sensation – but I haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary. If this mask had caused a stingling (= stinging and /or tingling) sensation, I would have washed my face right away. But yeah, everything was perfectly fine and nothing bad happened!

What else is good? When I took off the sheet mask, I noticed that my face looked younger. Sure, my complexion looked like always, but the fine lines on my forehead were gone. Pouf – Gone! I still don’t understand how this is even possible – but it happened! Sure, I was tired and about to go to bed, but I took a close look and I know what I saw. OK, the fine-lines-be-gone effect only lasted until I washed my face in the morning, but I was (and still am) very impressed!

I’ve also enjoyed using this mask as a night cream for a few days. The rich formula is just perfect for my dry skin. And in all honesty, I’d be perfectly happy if Boots ditched the sheet mask and sold the actual mask as a face cream or as a leave-on mask instead. I’d buy it!

So all in all, would I recommend this face mask? Absolutely! But please make the most of the product, OK? 🙂

Boots Ingredients Luminous Youth Sheet Face Mask with Safflower & Peony is available for £2.50 at Boots. I got my Ingredients face masks when Boots ran a 2 for £3 promotion. So don’t forget to check for offers before you buy!
