Empties – April 2023

Hi there! Today’s post is about all the products I emptied in April. I did a little better than the past few months. Now onto the products I said goodbye to in April!

1 Treacle Moon That Vanilla Moment Bath And Shower Gel – a lovely shower and bath gel. I have another bottle in my stash.

2 Aussie Mighty Mega Shampoo & Conditioner – one of my favourite conditioners. A definite repurchase (along with the matching shampoo).

3 Original Source Pink Grapefruit Shower – an old favourite. Unfortunately discountinued, but I think I have 2 more bottles in my stash.

4 Boots Extracts Cocoa Butter Body Butter – one of my all-time favourite body butters. Unfortunately discontinued.

5 Boots Garden Collection Rose Body Wash – this was a nice shower gel from a Christmas gift set. I would buy it again if I could.

6 Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glow Gentle Cleansing Milk – a very nice make-up remover. I will buy this product again!

7 Palmolive Memories Of Nature Berry Picking Shower Gel – this is a nice shower gel. Another repurchase.

8 Neutrogena Clear & Soothe Toning Mist With Turmeric – one of my all-time favourite facial products. Yes, I’ll stock up on this face mist!

9 Sukin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil – not the best facial oil, but alright. I wouldn’t buy it again though. I’ve had better facial oils.

10 A’kin Sensitive Calming Day & Night Cream – I used this moisturiser on my feet as I couldn’t stand the smell on my face. Glad it’s gone. Wouldn’t buy it again.

11 Olay Anti-Wrinkle Firm & Lift Day Cream With SPF 15 – this is such a lovely moisturiser! A definite repurchase!

And this is it for April’s empties. Not sure if May will be as good. I will finish 2 products by the end of this week, but there’s not much else looking anywhere near empty in the near future…

Neutrogena Clear & Soothe Toning Mist With Turmeric

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Neutrogena Clear & Soothe Toning Mist With Turmeric. This face mist is aimed at spot-prone, combination and dehydrated skin.

This face mist promises to refresh and to soothe stressed and spot-prone skin. According to Neutrogena, you can use it before or after your moisturiser – or whenever you want. Just close your eyes and mouth and spray it all over your face.

I’ve been using this face mist for well over a month now. And I love it! I use it after cleansing, randomly during the day and sometimes over my make-up.

First of all, this is the mistiest face mist I’ve ever used. Some face mists are more like sprays, but the nozzle on this bottle dispenses the finest face mist ever. 😍 So you can spray away without ending up with wet patches on your face.

I’ve noticed that, since I’ve been using this face mist, redness is less of an issue for me. I would definitely agree that this face mist calms my moody skin!

I’m so happy that I’ve given this face mist a try! It’s one of my favourite products right now. If you’re interested, Neutrogena Clear & Soothe Toning Mist With Turmeric is available as 125ml for about £6. I paid £3.99 (Save 1/3 offer).

Reducing My Samples Stash – Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

Hi there! Not too long ago I received a Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel sample. Hydro Boost is a new range that promises (I’m quoting from their marketing leaflet…) “Lightweight yet intense hydration for skin so supple it bounces back”.

Neutrogena mentions hyaluronic acid, glycerin and an olive derivative as active ingredients which are supposed to hydrate skin and to (here’s another quote) “help fortify the skin barrier”. Sounds great. Now, how’s the water gel?

I’m not impressed. I think that the water gel felt nice for the first few minutes, but it made my skin feel in need of hydration after less than an hour. I tried to wait and see what would happen, but after 2 hours I gave up. I didn’t want my skin to feel dry, so I just applied some Olay moisturiser on top of the water gel, and this seemed to help.

Whilst I was expecting Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Water Gel to be a moisture bomb, it turned out to be the exact opposite. In terms of hydration, I think this water gel is just as disappointing as Garnier’s Skin Active Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask and Superdrug’s Naturally Radiant Brightening Radiance Balm.
