Gliss Ultimate Colour Shampoo & Conditioner

Hi there! Today’s post is about a shampoo and conditioner combo that I’ve been using for 2 weeks now – Gliss Hair Repair Ultimate Colour Shampoo & Conditioner. These 2 products with liquid keratin and uva + uvb filters promise colour protection and extra shine for coloured hair.

So… how’s the shampoo? It’s fantastic! The shampoo makes my hair feel sensationally soft. And I love how it feels on my head when I wash my hair. It’s pretty much as amazing as L’Oréal’s Restore 5 Extreme shampoo!

And the conditioner? I think the conditioner is quite good. It helps me detangle my hair without weighing it down, and I have no complaints about the conditioner. However, it doesn’t have that amazingness that she shampoo has…

What else? These 2 products smell lovely! The fragrance is similar to Gliss’s Liquid Silk fragrance, but the Ultimate Colour fragrance smells a little more floral and a bit darker. Very nice! I’m also happy that these 2 products help maintain my hair’s natural shine. All in all, I’m hapy with these products, and I’ll buy them again!

Gliss Hair Repair Ultimate Colour Shampoo (250ml) & Conditioner (200ml) are available for 99p at a number of bargain stores. I got these 2 Gliss products from B&M Bargains.

My Holy Grail Of Hair Care Part 2 – Herbal Essences Shimmering Colour & Sensuously Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner

Hi there! If you read the original Holy Grail Of Hair Care post, you know I love the classic Herbal Essences products. The newer Herbal Essences products (in the curvy bottles) don’t do anything for me – I tried three different shampoo and conditioner combos but I really didn’t like them at all. (And neither did my husband.) So I’ll stick to my original Herbal Essences favourites! 🙂

OK, let’s look at the shampoos first. 🙂 The Herbal Essences Shimmering Colour and Sensuously Smooth shampoos are amazing. They smell of tropical flowers (this line was once called Rainforest Flowers) and they make my scalp and my hair feel incredibly clean. But these shampoos are very gentle at the same time. They’re perfect!
Herbal Essences Rainforest Flowers 2

The conditioners are better than what I could dream up if it was my mission in life to dream up the perfect conditioner. Nothing detangles hair the way Herbal Essences’ Classics conditioners do. And nothing else makes could make hair feel silkier or look shinier. These conditioners offer tons of moisture without weighing hair down. Why other manufacturers of hair care products don’t copy these conditioners is something I’ll never understand…

Now let me say a few more words about the two product lines. The Shimmering Colour shampoo and conditioner really work for freshly coloured hair. Normally my hair colour bleeds quite a bit for a few days after I’ve dyed my hair, but this shampoo and conditioner combo seems to make the colour hold on to my hair. Brilliant! These two products are even better than L’Oréal’s Colour Protect offerings!

The Herbal Essences Sensuously Smooth products really do what they’re supposed to. You may remember my last hair post about Pantene’s Colour Protect & Smooth products. OK, you don’t remember. But that’s OK. 🙂 I said that Pantene’s products really make my hair feel smooth. Now, a few weeks ago I emptied the Pantene conditioner, and I went on to use these Herbal Essences products. And guess what – my hair is so smooooooth, it’s insane! Verdict? Herbal Essences Sensuously Smooth mops the floor with Pantene!

I think, along with Herbal Essences Classics Moisture Balance and Silk N’ Shine, Herbal Essences (Rainforest Flowers) Shimmering Colour and Sensuouly Smooth are the best hair products out there. Unfortunately they were relaunched as a limited edition, and they have now disappeared from the shelves – but I’ve stocked up when I noticed them disappearing, so I’ll be OK for a while. However, I still hope that Herbal Essences will relaunch them again. Fingers crossed!

Pantene Pro-V Colour Protect & Smooth Shampoo & Conditioner

Hi there! A few weeks ago I went nuts at the drugstore and I bought about a dozen shampoos and conditioners which I’ve never had before. I know it’s quite a lot, but everything was half price. And I really can’t resist a bargain. 🙂 OK. Now meet Pantene Pro-V Colour Protect & Smooth shampoo and conditioner.

The shampoo feels nice and gentle and I’m satisfied it cleanses my hair properly. However, it’s nothing special. The conditioner is decent. It detangles my hair nicely, but every other day it feels like it’s weighing my hair down.

I have to say that these two products really make my hair feel smooth. And I like the pleasant (yet non-descript) scent. However, in regards to colour protection, this combo doesn’t really work. All in all, I think this product line is OK, but clearly I’m not in love with it. So whilst I might buy these two products again, I’m in no rush to do so.

In regards to whether I’d recommend these products, I’d say it depends on your hair type. If you have dry hair or if you want your hair to be smoother, I’d say give these products a try.

Pantene Pro-V Colour Protect & Smooth shampoo (400ml) and conditioner (360ml) are available for £3.99 each. But keep in mind, there’s almost always a half price offer somewhere. 😉

Harmony Hair Indulgence Herbal Shampoo & Conditioner With Jasmine Extract

Hi there! Not too long ago I had Harmony Hair Indulgence Herbal Shampoo & Conditioner with Mulberry Extract. I found those products decent, so I tried another Harmony combo. Now meet Harmony Hair Indulgence Herbal shampoo & conditioner with Jasmine Extract. These two products promise extra shine for coloured hair. Now let’s see if they’re any good. 🙂
Harmony Indulgence Jasmine
The shampoo is quite good. It lathers up nicely, and whilst it cleanses my hair and my scalp properly, it’s not too harsh. The conditioner isn’t that great. It’s not very effective at detangling my long, curly hair. So I have to double-condition just to get all the knots out. I think the conditioner would probably be OK for fine, straight or short hair – but it’s simply not good enough for long, thick and curly hair.

I also think the jasmine fragrance is very strong. However, this is only from the bottle and in the shower. As soon as the products are rinsed out, that overpowering smell is gone and my hair smells of the most wonderful jasmine flowers.

In terms of shine I’m not sure if these products have done much. They didn’t make my hair appear dull, but I don’t think they made my hair extra shiny. So I would say these products maintained my hair’s natural sheen.

If you’re interested, Harmony Hair Indulgence Herbal products with Jasmine Extract are currently available in discount stores. The products are available as 250ml for 99p / £1 each.

L’Oréal Elvive Colour Protect Caring Shampoo & Conditioner

Hi there! As I’m using different shampoos and conditioners all the time, I sometimes forget old favourites – like L’Oréal’s Elvive Colour Protect Shampoo and Conditioner. However, I’ve now bought these two products again – and I remembered why I always loved them so much.

The shampoo is great. It smells pleasant and it cleanses my hair and my scalp nicely. The conditioner is one of the best I’ve ever used – second only to Herbal Essences’ Classics conditioners. What I love about the conditioner is that it detangles my hair nicely and that it doesn’t weigh my hair down – just the way I like it. 🙂

I also noticed that these two products really help maintain the intensity of my hair colour after I’ve dyed my hair. Normally the colour bleeds quite a bit for a few washes after I’ve dyed my hair – but these two products made a huge difference! Well done, L’Oréal!

I would definitely recommend L’Oréal’s Elvive Colour Protect Shampoo and Conditioner to anyone with coloured hair. If you want to hold on to your hair colour for as long as possible, you really should try these two products!

The shampoo and the conditioner are available as 250ml for £2.99 and 400ml for £3.99. This is really good value. However, there’s usually at least one supermarket or drugstore chain that runs a half price or BOGOF promotion on the big bottles. So keep your eyes peeled for the best offer! 🙂

L’Oréal Elvital Color-Vive Deep Conditioner

L'Oreal Colour Intense ConditionerHi there! Today’s post is about the L’Oréal Elvital Color Vive Deep Conditioner I found at Family Bargains a while ago.

I love trying products from other countries. But I always check which country a product is from. This deep conditioner is from Denmark. As Denmark adheres to the same regulations for health and beauty products as the other EU countries, I was happy to try this product.

So, how’s the product? I think this is an amazing deep conditioner. It detangles my hair easily without weighing it down. And it makes my hair feel incredibly soft and silky. Love it!

Here’s the best thing: This deep conditioner is meant to be left on for 1 minute only before it has to be rinsed out. I leave it on for 3 to 4 minutes while I brush my teeth. But it’s good you don’t have to leave it on for half an hour or so.

I would definitely recommend L’Oréal’s Elvital Color Vive Deep Conditioner – not just because I paid 99p only – but because it’s a great product!
