Nip + Fab Renew Retinol Fix Tonic Extreme

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Nip + Fab Renew Retinol Fix Tonic Extreme.

This is a toner that promises visible anti-ageing results – but it doesn’t say how long it would take for you to see any results. 🤷‍♀️

The toner contains retinol which is known for its skin rejuvenation properties, an amino acid derivative to improve skin clarity and to even out the skin tone, and panthenol to deeply hydrate the skin.

You’re supposed to use this toner 2-3 times per week (evenings only) on your face and neck. The toner comes with a few warnings: Overuse can lead to dry skin or skin irritation, don’t use the toner on irritated skin, and consult your doctor before use if you’re pregnant! 😮

Wow, this sounds exciting and scary at the same time!

I’ve been using this toner once every 5-6 days for almost a year (10 months?), and I can safely say that it’s one of my favourite beauty products ever. I’m also still on my first bottle! 😍

Alrighty, let’s start with what I’ve learned… I couldn’t use this toner 2-3 times per week. It will irritate my skin, especially the skin around the eyes, quite a bit. How do I know? Because I tried to use it once every 3 days – but this was too frequent for me.

Then I tried to use this toner once every 4 days. Still not it. Then I went on to using it once every 5 days – this works well, and this is what I stick to. Occasionally, I give my skin an extra day, and that’s usually when I have to be outside the next day. That’s because retinol treatments and sunlight are not meant to go together.

What’s the toner like? It’s a clear toner, and it smells OK. I can’t describe the scent, but it’s definitely nothing natural. It does smell like “product”, but it’s not bad or unpleasant at all.

Onto more important things now! This toner feels amazing on my skin. I love using it. I can feel a bit of a pleasant tingle every time I use it. The toner feels very cleansing, and I can feel that it penetrates my skin to work its magic. I love it! I also love how quickly I can see results. Within minutes of using this toner, my skin looks more even in tone and texture. Amazing!

I know that, with all the different products I use, it’s sometimes not easy to tell which product does what, but having used this toner for almost a year, I know what it does, and I know that it helps me look refreshed and youthful.

If you’re interested, Nip + Fab Renew Retinol Fix Tonic Extreme is available as 100ml for £24.95. I paid £10 (TK Maxx).

Global Beauty Care Anti Aging Collection Retinol Spa Treatment Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Global Beauty Care Anti Aging Collection Retinol Spa Treatment Mask. I tried a few other masks from this brand – all of them were really good. So I didn’t hesistate to give these retinol face masks a try.

How does it work? This is not a leave-on sheet mask. You’re supposed to start with a cleansed face, then put the mask on and leave it on for 15 minutes, then remove the mask and rinse your face with water. The instructions state that the mask should not be left on for longer to avoid negative skin reactions. OK then!

I have a set of 5 retinol masks, and I used 2 of them already. I like them a lot! They promise to minimise the appearance of lines and wrinkles and they also claim to delay the effects of skin ageing. I can’t comment on any long-term effects, but I’m happy to report that this mask makes my skin look refreshed and rejuvenated, and it does seem to blur fine lines. Very nice!

Based on my experience, I would recommend this face mask! Global Beauty Care Anti Aging Collection Retinol Spa Treatment Mask is available as a set of 5 masks. I paid £4.99 (TK Maxx).

Poundland #6 Anti-Ageing Retinol Day Cream With SPF 25

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Poundland #6 Anti-Ageing Retinol Day Cream With SPF 25 which I’ve been using since some time in May. This day cream contains 1% retinol, hyaluronic acid and green tea extract. And it promises to fight visible signs of ageing by firming and boosting skin texture, improving the appearance of fine lines and helping to prevent premature ageing.

Since I’ve been using this day cream for well over a month now, I can safely say that it’s great. This day cream is rich and hydrating, it feels good on my skin, and it plays amazingly well with my foundation. I’m enjoying it so much!

I can’t comment on whether it would blur lines and wrinkles. Since I’ve always drenched my skin in creams, oils and lotions, I don’t have any real lines or wrinkles. I guess I can actually thank my skin for being very dry and moody since this is what prompted me to moisturise like a maniac for the past 2 decades.

To sum it up, I think this is an amazing day cream! Based on my experience, I’d recommend it to everyone. And priced at £3, this day cream is ridiculously cheap! If you’re interested, Poundland #6 Anti-Ageing Retinol Day Cream With SPF 25 is available as 50ml at Poundland! Also, on the back of the carton, it says that this day cream is cruelty-free and suitable for vegans! 😍

Poundland #6 Anti-Ageing Retinol Night Cream

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Poundland #6 Anti-Ageing Retinol Night Cream which I’ve been using since the end of April.

This night cream contains 1% retinyl palmitate, hyaluronic acid, green tea extract and shea butter. It promises to fight the signs of ageing, to hydrate and regenerate the skin, and to improve the skin’s elasticity. The result is firmer and younger looking skin.

I like this night cream a lot. I’m definitely impressed by it! I love how nourishing it is. It’s perfect for my dry skin. I also like the gentle formula. I haven’t experienced any issues. Au contraire! Thanks to this night cream, I’m waking up to refreshed and well-rested looking skin – even though I often sleep less than 5 hours.

I cannot comment on how well this night cream fights visible signs of ageing. I’ve always taken great care of my skin, and I wouldn’t expect any single new product to outperform every other skin care product I’m using (or have used in the past).

In any event, based on my experience, I’d recommend this night cream. Priced at £3, the 50ml tub is a total steal! This is quite possibly the cheapest retinol night cream. So if you’re on a budget, you might want to check out this product! Always make sure you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients, and keep in mind that retinol makes your skin more sensitive to sunlight, so sunscreen is a must for your day skin care if you go out. What else? Poundland #6 Anti-Ageing Retinol Night Cream is also suitable for vegans – what’s not to like?

Boots No. 7 Youthful Replenishing Facial Oil

Hi there! Today’s post is about this Boots No. 7 Youthful Replenishing Facial Oil which I’ve been using since June.

This facial oil with jojoba oil and retinyl palmitate is one of the core pieces of the No. 7 skin care collection.

It promises to give dry skin the boot and to reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles. The product page on Boots’ website says “turn back the clock” and “say bye-bye to dry and dehydrated skin…” Well, OK then!

When I started to use this facial oil, I didn’t believe that it would live up to its promises. I didn’t like it for the first few days, and I didn’t think it was rich enough. However, I kept using it, and after about 10 days, I found that it that killed off the 2 eczema patches which I’ve had for a few months now.

I’ve tried other products, and some did help with the eczema. But this facial oil has really gone the extra mile for my skin. I’m glad I continued to use it even though I was sceptical at first.

Based on my experience, I’d recommend this facial oil. It’s a non-greasy formula, so you might be thinking it’s not rich enough for dry skin. But it actually is rich and deeply hyrating. I will buy it again, no doubt!

Boots No. 7 Youthful Replenishing Facial Oil is available as 30ml for £23. Smaller 15ml bottles are usually available as part of seasonal gift sets.

Primark PS… Retinol Fusing Facial Sheet Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about a face mask I bought and tried just recently – it’s this Primark PS… Retinol Fusing Sheet Mask.

With this product, the actual sheet mask and the essence are separated. So you have to turn the sachet upside down and give it a good squeeze for the essence to reach the sheet mask. Once the mask has absorbed the essence, you can use it (just leave it on for 15-20 minutes, don’t rinse).

This mask promises to make skin appear smoother. Whilst the mask felt nice and relaxing, I don’t think it did anything to my face. When I removed the mask, I found that it left my face feeling a little sticky. It wasn’t too bad. However, I would have preferred not to have a sticky face.

All in all, I liked the novelty-effect of a fusing mask, but since it didn’t give me any results, I won’t buy it again.

If you’re interested, Primark PS… Retinol Fusing Sheet Mask is available as 20g for £2. I paid 50p (clearance).

Haul! New Stuff I bought since Boxing Day! 👀

Hi there! Today’s post is about most of the stuff I bought since Boxing Day. There is one gift set I have no photo of because it’s already been packed up for the house move. The gift set is a Thierry Mugler Aura fragrance set (plus mini shower gel and mini body lotion). OK, now let’s look at the goodies I was able to take photos of!

I bought plenty of face masks. Primark had a number of heavily discounted face masks (some £1, some 50p), and I bought over 20. I also picked up 3 Yes To face masks for a total of £2 (reduced to clear for £1 each and a 3 for 2 offer on top at Boots). I also found Simple face masks at Poundland, Boots and B&M Bargains. They normally retail for £2.99 each, but most of them were £1, some £1.49.

A set of mini nail files from Superdrug. The set was 10p (clearance). Bioré Pore Penetrating Charcoal Bar for £1.99 at Home Bargains!

A set of 4 Charcoal Self-Heating One Minute Masks from Bioré£1.99 at Home Bargains. And a set of 3 fruity face masks from Superdrug for £1.49 (I bought 2 sets).

Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Micro Polish – 3 tubes for 60p each (clearance). A set of nail files – these were 50p at Poundland (clearance bin). I use glass nail files at home, but I always carry one of those cheapo files in my handbag.

Sanctuary Spa face mask set£2.99 at Superdrug. I bought 2 sets! I have no idea if these are any good, but I thought I might give one of these sets to a friend.

Imperial Leather Narwhal Always Love You and Imperial Leather Drop It Like A Sloth shower gels. I found these at Poundland – 400ml each for £1 each. I’m looking forward to using these cute shower gels! 😍

And this is most of what I bought since Boxing Day. I did buy 5 nail polishes (all Revlon, £1 each at Poundland), but these have been packed up for the move as well.

Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Day Cream & Night Cream

Hi there! Today I’m reviewing 2 of Boots’ most prestigious skin care products – Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Day Cream and Night Cream. I’ve been using these 2 products for almost 6 weeks now, and here’s what I think.

Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Day Cream with retinol and Matrixyl 3000 promises to improve lines and wrinkles for visibly younger looking skin in 2 weeks. Whilst I have terrible skin (very dry and moody skin, eczema, skin discolorations, milia and I get spots all the time), I have no wrinkles (Yay!) and only a few very fine lines on my forehead. I have to credit Olay for this – but this is another matter for another day.

Since I’ve used this No 7 day cream, I’ve noticed that those very fine lines are even harder to detect. This is a great result! Whilst the day cream doesn’t feel very hydrating when it’s applied (this did concern me when I started to use it), I can confirm that it hydrates my skin well. Another thing I’m happy to report is that this day cream plays extremely well with my make-up (Max Factor Pan Stik). I think this is a great day cream, and I’m looking forward to giving the full size tub a try!

Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Night Cream promises to smooth lines and wrinkles and to help skin recover from the day. I think this is a great night cream. As I said earlier, the few lines I’ve got are almost invisible, and I think this night cream deserves half the credit. I’m also happy with the hydration my skin’s getting from this night cream. It’s perfect!

I was hoping these products would also have a brightening effect, but unfortunately, they don’t. They don’t claim to be brightening, and this is perfectly alright. However, if they also had brightening properties, I’d consider them holy grail products! In any event, these products are truly amazing, and I would recommend them without hesitating.

I got these 2 25ml tubes as part of a reduced price No 7 gift set (which also contained a facial oil, 5ml serum, a micellar water and an exfoliating product – all for £10). The full size tubs (50ml) are £25 each.

Have you tried these products or would you like to try them? Feel free to comment. And thanks for reading!

Retinol-X Anti-Aging Sheet Mask

Hi there! Today’s post is about Retinol-X Anti-Aging Sheet Mask. This sheet mask promises to make lines and wrinkles appear smoother, to improve the look of firmness and skin tone, and to restore skin’s radiance and glow. The key ingredients are vitamin A, green tea, aloe vera and vitamin E.

I bought a set of 5 of these masks, and I’ve already used 3 of them. Based on my experience, I would say that the mask doesn’t do anything for me. It makes no visible difference to my skin at all. I think these Retinol-X masks are a total disappointment.

Retinol-X Anti-Aging Sheet Mask is available as a set of 5 masks for £4.99 (TK Maxx). If you’re looking for a sheet mask that really helps make lines and wrinkles less visible, try this Boots Ingredients mask or this SpaScriptions sheet mask.
