Empties – August 2021

Hi there! Today’s post is about all the products I finished in August. I went through a lot of single-use face masks, and you can click here if you’d like to check out my latest face mask finds. Now let’s take a closer look at the big bottles, tubes and tubs!

1 Pacifica Hawaiian Ruby Guava Body Wash – this is a really nice shower gel. It smells sweet and warm, and the formula is very cleansing but also gentle on the skin. Nice one!

2 Superdrug Vitamin E Skin Care Smoothing All Over Body Cream With Acacia Collagen – I love this body cream. A definite repurchase!

3 Maui Moisture Strength & Anti-Breakage Agave Conditioner For Chemically Damaged Hair – not a terrible conditioner, but the not the most suitable one for my hair type. I won’t buy it again.

4 Radox Mineral Therapy Sleep Aromatherapy Bath Salts With Lavender & Ylang Ylang – these are wonderful bath salts! A definite repurchase!

5 Agent Provocateur Fatale Pink Eau De Parfum – a major disappointment. This stuff isn’t worth anyone’s time or money.

6 M&S The Fragrance Collection Vanilla & Woods Eau De Toilette – I LOVE this fragrance. It’s a modern classic. Feminine and cuddly. An ageless beauty. You wouldn’t believe it considering the ridiculously low price, but this fragrance is simply fabulous.

7 Superdrug Calm Skin Skincare De-Stress Refreshing Facial Spritz – I love this face mist. Too bad it has been discontinued, otherwise I’d pick it up again!

8 Palmolive Aroma Therapy Morning Tonic – I love this shower gel. Why did Palmolive discontinue this beauty? Fortunately, I have one more bottle in my stash.

9 Palmolive Aroma Therapy Sensual – same as above! 😢

10 Sanctuary Spa Ultra Rich Wet Skin Moisture Miracle – this is a really nice in-shower moisturiser, and I can see myself buying it again.

11 Poundland #6 Anti-Ageing Eye Cream – this £1 eye cream is much better than its price suggests. A very likely repurchase.

12 Superdrug Layering Lab Blossom Body Mist (x2) – this is the perfect dupe for Thierry Mugler’s Alien – but this body mist is actually better considering that it wraps you in a nice fragrance cloud (which L’Oréal’s watered-down version of Alien can’t do anymore). I have at least 2 more bottles in my stash, and I will continue to buy this body mist.

13 Poundland #6 Anti-Ageing Retinol Night Cream – a very good night cream! I might buy it again!

14 Poundland Anti-Ageing Retinol Day Cream With SPF 25 – same as above! 👌

I’m happy with the amount of products I finished in August. I don’t think September will be a great month for empties since I finished a lot of skin care in August already, but let’s see how it goes. Have you tried any of these products or would you like to try any of them? What have you finished recently? Feel free to comment, and thanks for reading!

Empties – February 2020

Hi there! Since it’s the first working day of a new month, this post is about all the products I emptied last month. I used a few single use face masks (of which I didn’t keep the sachets – as usual). But if you want to read about the face masks I tried recently, click here. Alright, let’s look at the bigger tubs, tubes and bottles. 👀

1 My Little Pony Fruity Lip Balm – this was one of my all-time favourite lip balms. I’ll miss the heavenly honeydew flavour!

2 Max Factor Pan Stik 25 Fair – best foundation ever! I’m so sad this amazing oil-based makeup has been replaced by an oil-free matte foundation. 😭 I’m glad I stocked up on original Pan Stiks!

3 Olay Essentials Glow Perfectors BB Cream Light – a decent tinted moisturiser. The shade light is way too dark for me (it’s more like a sunkissed medium), but otherwise, it’s not a bad product. I won’t repurchase it, but I think I might have a backup!

4 Bvlgari Omnia Paraiba – a terribly cheap smelling fragrance. It was good enough for work for a few weeks. I got compliments from a few female co-workers who consider Impulse sprays to be fragrance. That tells you what this Bvlgari fragrance smells like! Yes, it’s perfectly OK to like Impulse sprays, but you wouldn’t pay £24 for a can, right? Anyhoo, I’m glad Omnia Paraiba is gone. And I won’t be blind-buying any more Bvlgari fragrances.

Herbal Essences Shimmering Colour Conditioner – this was the last of its kind! I’m sad to say goodbye to it. 😭

6 Radox Essentials Soft Care Bath Cream with Milk – one of my all-time favourite bath products. Too bad it was discontinued, but I have 1 more bottle in my stash!

7 Imperial Leather Japanese Spa – another lovely shower gel from Imperial Leather! And yes, I have another bottle in my stash!

8 Skin Assistant Collagen Morning Glow Serum (no photo) – I came close to finishing this facial oil when the lid broke. I didn’t want to bin the product, so I mixed the last few drops of oil with my current face mist – success! 💪 I might repurchase this facial oil once I’m a bit more on top of my facial oil and serum stash! I’m sorry there’s no photo. It was just too messy to even try to reattach the lid!

9 Radox Feel Glam With Berry Burst Shower Cream – I love this stuff! Repurchase? Absolutely!

10 Hair Repair Colour Shield Nourishing Conditioner – I liked this shampoo and conditioner combo, and I might buy it again.

11 Garnier Ultimate Blends Body Soothing Hydrating Lotion With Delicate Oat – this is a lovely body lotion that I will buy again, no doubt!

12 Poundland #6 Anti-Ageing Eye Cream – this is a nice eye cream that’s a lot better than its price suggests. I’d recommend it, and I can definitely see myself buying it again!

13 Dove Purely Pampering Almond Cream With Hibiscus – this is a nice shower cream. I have another bottle.

14 Montagne Jeunesse Blemish Mud Face Mask – this one served me well. I might buy this face mask again in the future.

This is everything I finished last month. Not bad for a February! Sorry about the strange lighting in all the photos. I’m still figuring out how and where to take the best photos at our new place. And thanks for stopping by! 😘

Hi there! It’s the last day of the month, and this means that today’s post is about the products I loved the most in October. I picked my TOP 3 as well as a few honourable mentions from all the products I’ve reviewed this past month. Let’s start with the TOP 3!

3rd place – Yves Rocher Nutritive Végétal Velvety Cleansing Milk
Runner-Up – Jennifer Lopez Glow Eau De Toilette

Yves Rocher did an amazing job with this cleansing milk. And J Lo’s Glow fragrance is incredibly lovely.

WINNER – Poundland #6 Anti-Ageing Eye Cream

Poundland’s £1 eye cream turned out to be the surprise hit of the month. I’m very happy with it, and I know I’ll buy it again.

Onto the honourable mentions! Jiinju‘s wonderful Avocado Sheet Mask came in 4th (it was close). I enjoyed By Nature‘s Nourishing & Firming Face Mask. And NSPA‘s Luscious And Juicy Red Cherry Daily Refresh Shower Scrub is the perfect body scrub.

Poundland #6 Anti-Ageing Eye Cream

Hi there! It’s been a little while since Poundland launched its own skin care brand – so I’m a bit late to the party (as usual). However, I started to use Poundland‘s #6 Anti-Ageing Eye Cream about 3 weeks ago, and I’ve formed an opinion. 🙂

OK, let me tell you a little about the product first. This eye cream contains collagen, ceramides, algae extract and flaxseed oil. It pomises to reduce lines gradually. Oh, and this product is cruelty-free (all the products from Poundland’s #6 range are).

I think this eye cream is impressive! It feels light and non-greasy, and it doesn’t mess with my foundation or eye makeup. I’ve noticed that this eye cream is very hydrating. And looking at hydration only, I find it to be more effective than Superdrug’s Vitamin E (£3.49) and Naturally Radiant (£5.99) eye creams.

I have very dry and moody skin, but the skin around my eyes looks amazing. This is particularly surprising this time of year with the change of seasons. And I’m also not getting younger… so I’m wondering… is this what ceramides do?

Regardless of which ingredient does what – I’m blown away by this little eye cream, and I’d recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a hydrating eye cream, especially if you’re on a budget. Poundland‘s #6 Anti-Ageing Eye Cream is available as 15ml for £1.
