I think this face mask is nice. It’s a regular clay mask, it cleanses my skin, and it makes my skin feel soft. But I wouldn’t say that this mask is replenishing.

However, this face mask smells extremely nice. I can’t describe the fragrance, but I think it smells ‘high end’. I like it! I really like it!

I’m happy with this face mask, and I will buy it again. And I would definitely recommend it. Don’t let the oil scare you off. This mask is a proper clay mask!

L’Oréal Skin Perfection Soothing Gel-Cream Wash

Hi there! today’s post is about L’Oréal’s Skin Perfection Gel-Cream Wash for dry and sensitive skin.

This fragrance-free and soap-free face wash promises to remove make-up and impurities, to reveal a better skin texture, and to make skin feel silky-soft.

I’ve been using this face wash for 2 weeks now, and I’m very happy with it.

I think this face wash is definitely gentle and non-drying. And when used with a sponge or a wash cloth (or similar), it’s a fantastic facial cleanser.

Whilst I agree that this face wash leaves my skin feeling soft, I haven’t noticed any improvement in my skin texture. However, this is still a great face wash, and I would recommend it!

It appears that L’Oréal is replacing its entire Skin Perfection collection. So if you want to try this face wash, or stock up before it’s sold out, you need to be quick! My local B&M Bargains store sells this face wash. It’s £1.99 for a 150ml tube which is great value! B&M also sells other Skin Perfection products (toner, cleansing milk, serum, day and night creams…), so you might want to swing by your local B&M too!

Olay Anti-Wrinkle Nature Fusion Anti-Ageing Day Fluid

Hi there! I’m still working my way through Olay’s beauty assortment. Whilst I have found my favourite moisturiser, I can’t stop trying all of Olay’s offerings. 🙂 So for the past week I have used Olay Anti-Wrinkle Nature Fusion Anti-Ageing Day Fluid (What a name!) and I’m ready to review the product.

Let me tell you right away that this moisturiser is nice enough, but it will not become one of my beauty staples. My husband seems to like it though! If you read on, I’ll tell you why it’s not perfect for me, but why my husband is quite fond of it.

This Olay Nature Fusion Day Fluid is a light moisturiser with SPF. I think it’s great for summer because it doesn’t clog pores, and it will please ladies with normal or oily skin because the formula is not too rich. The clean and green scent highlights the ‘nature’ theme of this product.

However, I’ve got dry skin and I think this day fluid is simply not enough for my skin-type. I also prefer ‘yellow’ scents, so the leafy green scent of this moisturiser is not my favourite. Whilst I won’t be buying this product for myself again, my husband likes to use it on his face because…

… he has rather oily skin and this moisturiser is perfect for him because it doesn’t give his face an oily shine. He also likes the green scent because it’s rather unisex. And he is happy that this moisturiser contains SPF, so he doesn’t have to worry about the sun burning his pale skin.

In summary, this moisturiser is not for me, but I’m glad that my husband not only uses it because someone has to, but because he really likes the product. Olay Anti-Wrinkle Firm & Lift Eye Renewal Gel

Hi there! Here’s another Olay post; this time I’m reviewing Olay Anti-Wrinkle Firm & Lift Eye Renewal Gel. This product targets wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness and it claims to give you a ‘firmer looking eye contour in 21 days. So does it work? I’ve been using this eye gel for a few weeks now, and I’m not only happy with it, I’m blown away. If you read on, I’ll tell you why.

Thanks to Olay I haven’t had any real wrinkles to begin with. However, I have noticed a few lines which resulted from a recurring angioedema which I battled a couple of months ago. At first I thought it would take months go get rid of these lines, but at some point I realised I would have to make peace with them.

But after using this eye gel twice a day – morning and night – for ten days, the lines disappeared. Completely. I can’t believe how easy it actually was – all it took was the right product from my favourite skin care brand. I couldn’t be happier!

I’ve also noticed that my dark circles have improved a lot in the past few weeks. All my life I’ve had dark circles and I didn’t think anything could be done. However,  this eye gel helped a lot. I can’t tell you exactly how much the dark circles have improved, but I wouldn’t even call them dark circles anymore. The skin under my eyes is still a bit darker than the rest of my face, but it’s no longer a purplish grey area that needs lots of concealer. Again, I couldn’t be happier!

If you look for an effective, yet affordable anti-wrinkle eye product, look no further! Seriously, I cannot recommend Olay Anti-Wrinkle Firm & Lift Eye Renewal Gel enough. The 15 ml tub (which will last you for several months even if you use the product twice daily) is usually £10, but there’s always a BOGOF or half price offer at some drugstore or supermarket. (At the time I’m writing this post, this eye gel is £5 at Wilko’s and £4.95 at Superdrug’s.)

Olay Anti-Wrinkle Firm & Lift Day Lotion

Hi there! I’ve already done a couple of posts about Olay products recently – and I’ll be doing a lot more. 🙂 I’m a real Olay nut and I’m currently testing several different products. I know I’ll always return to the incredible Complete Care Day Fluid, but that doesn’t stop me from trying different moisturisers in between.

At the moment I’m using Olay Anti-Wrinkle Firm & Lift Day Lotion. I’m quite impressed with the product because it’s similar to my favourite Complete Care moisturiser, and I can see that it might become one of my beauty staples.

And here’s why: I love the formula and the scent of this moisturiser. It smells wonderfully sunny and optimistic and it moisturises my skin very well without leaving a greasy film behind. It’s also perfect under make-up because it’s easy to apply and it doesn’t sit on the skin. I cannot comment on its wrinkle-smoothing qualities because – thanks to Olay – I don’t have wrinkles, but that goes to show that Olay’s products really work.

Superdrug Lotus Flower & Cherry Blossom Body Butter

Hi there! I’ve emptied two of the three Superdrug own brand body butters already, and now it’s time to review the third one which I’ve been using for the past week. So this little beauty is Superdrug Lotus Flower & Cherry Blossom Body Butter. Just like its ‘siblings’ (here and here), this body butter is a fabulous moisturiser with pro-vitamin B5 and vitamin E.

And what about the scent? Honestly, this butter smells heavenly. It bursts with freshness and sweetness – the perfect combination of lotus and cherry blossoms. Beautiful!

Superdrug Cocoa Butter & Vanilla Body Butter

Hi there! A couple of weeks ago I reviewed the first of my new body butters from Superdrug. I’ve finished the Cherry & Macadamia butter and have moved on to Superdrug Cocoa Butter & Vanilla Body Butter.

In terms of quality, this body butter is really good. It contains vitamin E and pro-vitamin B5 and it leaves my skin feeling soft and silky. I couldn’t ask for more.

This body butter also smells lovely and sweet, but it’s no surprise since it contains cocoa butter and vanilla. The scent leans towards vanilla, but I don’t mind because it reminds me of vanilla milk.

Olay Anti-Wrinkle Instant Hydration & Wrinkle Blur

Hi there! I bought this special edition Olay Anti-Wrinkle Instant Hydration & Wrinkle Blur moisturiser for half price a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been using it for the past ten days and I’m actually quite happy with it. And here’s why.

Once applied, this moisturiser sinks right into my skin and leaves it looking matte and silky. It’s great under make-up and yes, it does have an instant blurring effect on wrinkles and lines!

Because of the non-greasy formula and the matte finish, this moisturiser would be great for women with oily skin. But at the same time it doubles as a primer for women with dry skin. This moisturiser has primer-like qualities, yet – unlike most ‘real’ primers – it is not drying at all. So if you want a primer that doesn’t feel like it’s sucking the moisture out of your skin, this product is for you.

Another thing I love about this Olay moisturiser is its fresh and pure scent which I would describe as a mix of water lilies and apples.

But there’s one bit that I’m not super happy with – this moisturiser is SPF-free. I love my sunscreen, but if you prefer SPF-free face creams and moisturisers, this one is definitely worth a try.

Garnier Skin Naturals Dark Spot Corrector

Hi there! I hope you enjoyed the bank holiday weekend. This is a bit of a funny post for me since I haven’t used the Garnier Skin Naturals Dark Spot Corrector on my face. However, I’ve used it on my husband’s face, so I think I’m qualified to review the product. 🙂

My husband has developed a few dark spots over the past year or two, and one of these dark spots – a big one on his cheek – has bugged him quite a lot. So I bought him the Dark Spot Corrector which claims to reduce the appearance of dark spots.

So did it work? I’d say it somewhat worked. I’ve applied the cream to his dark spots twice a day and most of them are significantly paler than a couple of months ago. They’re still present, but not as pronounced as they used to be.

I am not sure if I would recommend this product – I would say it depends on the result you want to achieve. However, there is one flaw that I need to point out. The Dark Spot Corrector does not have sunscreen. I know some people prefer an SPF-free face cream, but I think that a product that aims to fade skin discolourations – many of which are caused by exposure to sunlight –  should contain some sort of sunscreen.

Superdrug Cherry & Macadamia Body Butter

Happy Easter everyone! A few months ago Superdrug introduced new body butters. I liked some of their ‘old’ butters very much, so I was interested to try the new products. I picked up this Cherry & Macadamia Body Butter and since I’ve used it almost every day for the past two weeks, I can safely say that I love it and will buy it again.

This body butter is absolutely gorgeous. Its scent is sweet and quite strong, but it’s very natural and yummy. I think this body butter smells like cherry yoghurt on my skin!

I also love the formula. This body butter contains vitamin E and pro-vitamin B5 and it is very soft and easy to apply. It melts right into the skin without leaving a sticky film behind.
